HELP CWRU STUDENTS REBUILD NEW ORLEANS FISH FRY

Deuteronomy 8:3 Cafe Books & Music

Fish Fry-Days Benefit For Student Volunteers
February 22, 2007 ~ Noon - 6 p.m.

On the next two Fridays, February 22, 2007, 50% of the profit from our Fish Fry-Day Specials will be contributed to the fundraising campaign for students who will spend their Spring Break volunteering with New Orleans restoration efforts. The students will travel to New Orleans through the Center For Civic Engagement at Case Western Reserve University.

The students have created two webpages to inform the community about their efforts. An information page http://cwru.escape.googlepages.com with service projects, community partners and student profile is linked to their donations page at www.firstgiving.com/escapekatrina providing an opportunity for you to assist them on their journey.

No longer a headline story, New Orleans and other Gulf Coast communities still lay waste, resembling any war torn region. It looks like 14,000 bombs were dropped there instead of abroad. We urge your consideration in making a donation toward these students' valiant, and unselfish choice to spend their break volunteering.

Feel free to contact any member of the team (on the webpages) with questions, and to share this information with other community members.
