The Governor’s Conference on Increasing the High School Graduation Rate for African American Male Students

While we have known for decades the severity of the problem of many of our African American students not graduating from high school, and some of us have made valiant attempts to address this issue, never before have we had a Governor that is taking direct action to develop real solutions. The Governor believes that the cost of not doing so is too great, not only in the quality of life for each individual but in the cost to our society.

The Governor's Conference on Increasing the High School Graduation Rate for African American Males will be held on Wednesday, May 30th starting at 9:00 a.m., registration 8:00-9:00 a.m. The paradigm that will be promoted is shared responsibility. Each one has a part to play is solving this issue. So the range of invitees to this conference goes from parents to business persons.

I invite you to pass this flyer out and include it in your forms of communication to your members, associations and friends.
