Dear Tutors,
On February 11, 2007, the CEO of the Cleveland Municipal Schools will be giving a seminar at The Church of the Covenant. We have planned several special "Tutoring Appreciation" events for that day, and we hope that you will attend.
From my perspective, our Saturday tutoring sessions are one of many activities happening in the building during the week that most of the church's members miss out on. Many Covenant members cannot visualize the large number of volunteers and students who participate in the program. Several times a year, I write articles about our program, and I give them statistics. But the numbers never convey the whole story. It would be great if we could all be together again on Sunday, February 11, so the church can see who we are!
· Rev. Dr. Robert Campbell will recognize all tutors, students, and their families at the beginning of the worship service that morning. The service begins at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary (main level of the building) and everyone is invited to sit together as a group. (Linda Wilson and I will be at the huge front door of the church to greet you just like we do on Saturdays!)
· A reception will be held in our honor around 11:00 a.m. in the reception room (main level of the building). Light refreshments will be served.
· Then Dr. Eugene Sanders, CEO of the Cleveland Municipal Schools, will present his seminar entitled, "Creating Educational Excellence for Cleveland's Children". The seminar begins at 11:30 a.m. in Beckwith Hall on the upper level of the building.
See you then,
Louise
